Hunting

So, as some people may already know... we have resumed our hunt for a home. We had given it up last year to pursue other directions in our life, but with recent changes in Nathans job we find ourselves looking again. We are looking in Medford Oregon which is right across the border, so Nathan can still work at the Siskiyou county DA's office. Its about a 45min commute, but 2-3 other co workers make the same commute so there is an opportunity for joining the carpool.
So last weekend was our first day of house hunting. We were there all day looking at homes, and by the time we got to the last house on the list it was dark. We walked through the house, and liked what we could see. We came back on Monday and saw a few more homes and then headed back to that last house to see it again in the light. And that was that. We decided to put an offer on it. It is a total fixer upper, but you get more home for your money that way. And as of yesterday, we and the bank (it was a foreclosed home) have reached an accord. If all of the inspections go our way we will be home owners by mid March. Woohoo! Its exciting to know that we could finally have a home of our own. It is going to take a lot of work to get it even move in ready...but it will be ours. And the work will be making OUR home ready. So exciting. We are going back to the house this coming Saturday so I will be taking pictures of it then.
