Project House: The Hole

Ok, so we have been hard at work in the Wente house. And we now have some new before and afters and some projects to show off.

First off, the downstairs HOLE.

 (When we moved in)
We called it the hole because we really didn't know what else to call it. It was a dark little unfinished room. no ceiling with pipes exposed, dirty cement floor, and so on.

(how we lived with it for the last 2 years)

So Nathan got to work.  He tore down and replaced the yucky existing sheet rock and lowered the framing so that he could add a ceiling.

He textured the walls, waterproofed the concrete. We painted and  added doors and base boards and recessed lighting. The only thing we didn't do was carpet it and we left that to the professionals. :)

Now that we had a room it need some furniture. So We got back to work. Using some Plans from Ana White's blog, Nathan built Braydan a storage bed. Fits perfectly.

We then took an old dresser my grandmother had given me and painted it to match his bed. I still have something I want to do to this room... but for the most part it is all done. :)

So... are we ready for the BEFORE & AFTERS?  Here we go...

From the door

From the "food storage/closet door"
From the back side of the room (on the bed)

One more time from the door.
