Project House: A New Deck

Ok... so when we moved into this house the deck was pretty thrashed. In fact we haven't used or really gone out there very often in the year we have lived here.  Here are the before pictures.










OK... so we started by tearing it apart... :) We had a contractor come give us a bid on replacing the deck but, sorry, cant afford 14,000 on a new deck. So after a visit from my Dad and some talking it through we decided to try to salvage as much as we could and then replace the rest ourselves.







Then when the Fiskes came to visit, we got started. Joe, Nathan and Steven and Spencer worked really hard. THe kids even got into it as well.















Almost done with the structure!











A week or so later Nathan and I finished putting a fresh coat of paint sealer on it. And have now enjoyed using it everyday since. :)





(A new table as well!! More on that later. )
