The fall

_Last saturday was a beautiful day her in redlands. Nice and cool and the perfect day to be outside. So we decided to have a picnic out on the front lawn. Braydan and Nathan decided to to play hide and seek after we ate. They had been playing for about 20 min, with nathan getting more and more creative in his hiding places. He decided to hide on the roof, after being found by B, he went to get down. Instead of going back to were he got up he decided to just hop down. He did so and as he hit the ground his feet went out frm under him and he slammed his head backword onto the brick step. As you all can see that gave him a nasty gash as well as a nice concusion. Braydan and I both witnessed the fall and we were both a little shaken up. Braydan disconnected form the whole thing and went and watched a movie. I felt calm, yet didnt stop shaking for about 30 minutes. My mom, my sister Kit and I brought him in the house and tried to stop the bleeding. Nathan was a bit disoriented and his pupils were completley dialated causing him to be sensitive to light. My dad rushed home from his office and while we aited for him to get to the house I sat with nathan holding ice and applying pressure to the wound. My dad did a wonderful job of cleaning Nathan up and repairing his head. :) Nathan ended up with 3 layers of stitches. He has a pretty big bump, but he is healing fast. Anyway, this whole situation has really put things into perspective for me. Just how fragile life is. How someone you love can be sitting and laughing with you one moment...... and the next is on the ground bleeding from the head. I am very greatful that is was not worse then it was. And that our life is getting back normal. wow...drama:)
